COMPANY POLICIES

APPOINTMENT PLANNING

Every patient is different and requires a bespoke treatment plan based on their complaint. The practitioner will discuss treatment plans and future appointments with you in your session. Our target is to treat our patients in as few sessions as possible where possible.

CANCELLATION POLICY AND MISSED APPOINTMENTS

We appreciate that in this day and age complications may arise at short notice which may prevent you from completing your scheduled appointment. Osteo On The Move requests that 24hrs notice be given for an appointment cancellation and 12hrs notice can be given for the rescheduling of an appointment. The charge to the patient will be 100% of the appointment fee if the requested notice isn't given.

WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?

New patients will require a 45-minute treatment so the practitioner can assess their complaint, undertake active and passive examinations, discuss treatment plan and undertake the treatment. Following the treatment the osteopath will discuss future steps with the patient and ensure diagnosis, pain management, exercises and future appointments are all made and clearly explained.

WHAT TYPES OF HEALTH INSURANCE DO YOU ACCEPT?

Check with your insurance provider about what you are covered for. We can help provide you with as much information as possible relating to your treatment to aid in your personal claim. We do not bill insurance companies directly.

DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?

You do not need a doctor's referral before treatment. An Osteopath will discuss your presenting complaint and establish a working diagnosis and treatment plan which will be discussed with you before treatment to ensure you are happy to progress. With permission, the Osteopath will provide physical treatment and will then make a plan of action with you relating to exercises along with a short and long term plan.

We do work closely with many GP's to help support our patients so we welcome communication between all health professionals in order to offer the best individual all round care.

IS TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Osteopaths will use a combination of soft tissue techniques, joint manipulations, muscle energy techniques and mobilisations to help reduce pain and improve joint mobility. The practitioner will regularly check with you and ensure you are comfortable. Some deep tissue techniques may be uncomfortable but the practitioner will do everything possible to ensure you are in as little discomfort as possible.
